I picked up this in a trade a couple of years ago - it came from SW Virginia via Mike Clemons aka Capt Bridger here on the RMC. I decided to keep it for myself as a user so I added the buffalo rawhide repairs on both ends to close up a couple of cracks and then made the western style strap to match up with the 1825 date - an eastern horn gone west...... If there are any other shots you would like let me know - the flat butt plug is dark stained pine with a hand carved pine finial - it is held in with wooden pins and the horn was shaped round before inserting.

Chuck, That is a nice one... This is one from the Mtn Man era that I picked up years ago... I braided the cord like short remnants of a cotton one were that remained on the horn.
