I just stumbled on this site totally by accident while researching gear, had never heard of it. I'm currently working on my bosslopper requirements for AMM membership. Home is eastern Idaho, close to the Wyoming border. I'm pretty poorly plugged in to this community, but I did meet Matt at Ft. Bridger back in early Sept. - hi Matt! Looks like some good info here in the old posts. I'm currently making and assembling clothing and gear and planning my camps. Did my fall camp back in Oct. and will do my first winter camp soon. Anyone have any words of wisdom on making snowshoes? I cut some chokecherry with the idea of making ojibway style shoes a couple of weeks ago but don't have any rawhide at the moment so will probably need to buy some. I understand there was an article on the subject in a back issue of the T&LR some years ago and I spoke with the author who was going to send it to me but I think he forgot. If anyone remembers it and about how long ago it was I might be able to pile through my sponsor's stack of T&LR's when i visit him at some point.
I look forward to eventually meeting some of you guys. John Rice Swan Valley, Idaho
