The possible trapping place that Allen Hall and I checked out on Friday along the Snake River (near where the river exits the mountains and flows onto the Snake River plain) didn't have any fresh sign. Beavers had been in there in the past though, and Allen had trapped a bunch there years ago. One slough that looked like it might have potential was frozen over pretty thick, so it will bear another check once things start to melt. I did find a section further up river near where I live in Swan Valley with fresh sign. I ended up doing a winter camp this past weekend (I'll report on that in the winter doin's thread), so didn't get any steel set. Hope to this coming weekend. Thanks guys for the info on traps, everything that's been shared is helpful and makes sense. I probably just need to tune my H. Hunter trap to get it working right.

I appreciate the information.I have been searching for years now for something that just isn't there, or if was ,wasn't common at all. And that is what we are looking for ,is the truth. I will keep working with my traps and hopefully get better at trapping with them. It's been a rough season with all this crazy Oklahoma weather. Hope you fellas are having better luck. Pete
