The Western is coming up in a little over a week. In Northern California about 80 miles west of Reno,NV. Any of you guys planning on attending? Any questions? Can I offer free shrub as an enticement? If you are coming I look forward to meeting you in person. This is a nice little community we got here and It'd be nice to have a chat on the ground.
Cheers, Doug T.

Well Matt,
The 2017 Western came off pretty well. The Barren River Party should be proud of their efforts to host a memorable Territorial! It was held at a good site in the high foothills of the Northern Sierra. About 3500ft elevation. Great weather, high 60s during the day, low 40s at night, low humidity, only a slight drizzle one night. Woke up every morning to wild turkeys gobbling their heads off! 38 total participants, some came for a few days only. I think the lowest amount averaged 22 Brothers and a couple of women and about 6 or 7 dogs. Had several good Rocky Mountain Colleges. 2 pretty good camp feeds. Larry Badger won the Silver Calumet for best camp, and Larry Walker won the Silver Cock for his outstanding shooting prowess. Camps were spread out around a central camp and cook fire which was a great idea as it forced everybody to congregate to cook and palaver most of the time. So we each got to really get to know those who we don't get to spend much time with. Western Segundo, Kraig Falwell with two brothers came the farthest, from Texas. Capitaine, Doc Ivory and his wife Suzie came from Montana, Past Capitaine Goedon Odell came from Arizona, and a few Brothers came from way down close to the Mexican Border about 600 miles south. As Segundo I went in a couple of days early so I got 10 days on the ground, hard to leave and head to the World after that much time in the woods. If your on Facebook, a few fellows have posted some great sketches.
YFAB, Doug T.
