Well, now that winter is about over I finally had time to sit down and make a new pair of side seam winter moccasins. I made them out of moccasin weight moosehide. All seams are welted and double stitched with either a whip stitch or running stitch using artificial sinew. Liners are sewn froom a wool blanket and I have just enough room for two pairs of heavy socks without any tightness.

They look mighty nice and warm. I need to work on some better winter mocs.

As warm as it is down here on the southern plains right now I may not get to try them out until next winter. Having said that, this country is well known for getting spring blizzards some time. Called Blue Northers!

That's a really nice pair TurkeyCreek! I know what you mean about the weather. It's been 85 degrees in the Texas Panhandle lately. Never know when a blizzard will blow in either. I don't know what to wear half the time.
