Hello, I think I saw it on this forum, but I just can't find it again... Someone, on an online forum, mentioned a very early 19th c hide coat, that I believe is in a museum collection in one of the southern states. It is open in front, has little or no decoration and has a simple collar. I think it is associated with an early 19th c US Indian Agency officer. Ring any bells here?
Thanks

Well, after more wracking my brain, I remembered that I am thinking of the Titian Ramsay Peale leather coat discussed in another thread in this forum which also included this link. nafsmokesignals.tripod.com/2011/may-jun11_issue/smokesignalpg2.htmIt looks like the pictures are no longer linked to the article. Does anyone have photos of this coat or know if it is on display? The article suggests that NPS owns it but I can't seem to find it in any online exhibit. Thanks
