I want to start making some shooting pouches. Can anyone point me to a good supplier of 3-4 ounce bark tanned leather? Open to any and all advice you fellers have.

RJF Leather rjfleather.com/products/ (607) 742-8969 FWIW - I've been a professional leather crafter since the late 1960's although due to health issues I had to more or less quit a couple of years ago. Anyway I have been using Rogers double shoulders for several years now - they are old style pit/bark tanned hides from Portugal - and while a bit more expensive than other vendors, the quality and service are first rate. Just call Roger, tell him I sent you, and get it in #2 grade if he has any in stock - a bit cheaper and works just like the more expensive #1 except for some possible range marks, etc. |
