This is the Inspiration. This case, as well as a Flint NW Gun in a similar case were collected in the Southwest in 1910. Just how far back they go, who knows?

Nice case Luke and they date back to at least 1834, when Catlin drew one carried by a Comanche when meeting Col Dodge

Based on the more compex decoration and added fringe I'd say that the style had been around for a while - actually it's built much like the "standard" plains quiver and/or bow case.
