Just a quick question to see what everyone all uses and likes.
Out of your smoothies, what size shot do you prefer for hunting what type of critters?

Sadly, I have no smooth bore...yet....don't tell my wife I just said that...

I use #6---mainly because I bought a bag of it years ago, and still have plenty left. Seems to work well for pheasants and the like, provided I can actually hit them, an iffy proposition at best!

I found that a mix of 4 & 6 shot seems to do the best job in my smoothie. I use a tow wad between shot and powder and a leather or tow wad atop the shot. However, my name and marksman do not get muttered in the same breath.

I have had good luck using a mix of #4 & lead BB's, works well on running rabbits ,squirrels, snakes and anything else.Mostly I use wasp nest wadding in my fowler, felt wads in my double. Pete
