...appropriate domed brass stud buttons for making St. Louis pouches and likely other projects. (did I get your attention? ) I've been searching off and on for several weeks now and have been have poor luck. I took a chance on some from a vendor on Etsy and half of those were actually plastic and not actual brass as indicated. Anyone have any suggestions? Leifer (The fat Fur Trade Norwegian)

I had a St.Louis pouch made for me and a button was used to keep the flap secured, but I have wondered about the studs, I have not seen any for several years

Leifer, I made a St. Louis style pouch several years ago, and the brass studs Chuck links to looks just like the ones I used after comparing them with pictures of the MFT original. Fur Trade Norwegian? Is that by heritage or do you actually live there? -Char, the Swedish mountaineer www.scandinavianmountainmen.se

By heritage. Third U.S. born generation. Family came from Sather farm, in the vicinity of Valdres in Norway.
Char, I've only been able to see the sketch of the pouch from the Mountain Man Sketchbook. In the things you've seen, did it appear that a stud was used over a button?
