Does anyone have an idea what the "Guernsey frock" that was sold at Fort hall might look like? How similar would it be to what is currently marketed and sold as "authentic traditional" Guernsey sweaters currently being made and sold from Guernsey? These are the standard fisherman's sweater with a slash crew neck type collar. There was some speculation by Allen Chronister and Clay Landry in the "Book of Buckskinning volumn VII", that AJ Miller sketched Antoine Clement wearing one of these, but it shows a split front collar with possibly a button. The article was published in 1995 so I'm wondering if there is more current information. It would be a handy garment.

This won't help, but the sketched example reminded me of a Bill Cosby sweater from The Cosby show Leifer

Thanks guys for the replies. Rod, I can't tell if that guy is wearing a printed shirt or a textured sweater. I'm thinking mre like a textured sweater, not quite like a cable type texture , but more like the sweaters being offered on E-Bay as a Guernsey Sweater by Le Tricolour. Cool picture though.
