a bit of a laugh..
In an episode of "Cheers," Cliff Clavin, the trivia-spouting, quirky, irksome mama's boy mailman is seated at the bar describing the buffalo theory to his buddy, Norm Peterson, the beer loving heavyweight bar stool sitting perpetual patron.
Cliff expounds his "Buffalo Theory" to Norm:
“Well, you see, Norm, it’s like this. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it’s the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive intake of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that, Norm, is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.”

Hey Chuck, has your country received any snow yet? We have been getting snow for the last week plus in the valley, but accum. only about 5 inches. High country is +115% of normal. This is for NW Montana by the Canadian border.
Thanks again for maintaining this forum. It is the first one I go to, unfortunately not much activity lately. Maybe I can get Mark Morain to post the 1792 contract rifle he just finished.

I'll drink to that!
Mark, please get Mark M. to post those pics----he sent me an email, but the pictures didn't come through. I'll have to email him and have him try again.
We've probably got 5-6 inches out here on the flats of ND. Glad the snowpack is up in the mountains, keeps the rivers from getting too low next summer.

Having some Brandy as we speak... cheers to Cheers!
Got some snow and ice here in W. Wisconsin. About at "normal" for the year, but half of it melted off before the last 10" came.

Mark you're welcome. weather wise - we've got about 6-8" on the ground for which I'm glad although we could use a LOT more in teh high country due to the drought conditions. The local ski are only has about 30" at the base. Northwest of in the Wasatch rain they got dumped on this last storm - 37" in 48 hours! It's unusually cold though - highs low 20's dipping down below zero at night. Today it's sunny, 25°, and little wind - this far south and this high up (6500') it's pretty closet o shirt sleeve weather. Anyway I hope everyone had a VERY merry Christmas and a Happy New Year - and may the bird of paradise fly up your nose ;D ;D
