Hey folks,
I have seen a lot of cool leather/hide vests that are ornamented with quills by the late 1800s in collections and photographs. What is the earliest that these appear? Are there any fur trade (Rocky Mtn or otherwise) mentions of these? I have not seen any in my readings of the Great Lakes, but I know that more hide clothing appears out west.
