This is a reminder that there's just a month left to get in on the discounted fee to attend the 2012 Fur Trade Symposium at the Museum of the Mountainman in Pinedale, Wyoming. This year's symposium will focus on the 200th anniversary of the Astorians. Looks like a fantastic lineup of speakers presenting papers. If you've never been to the confluence of Horse Creek and Green River, the actual site of several original rendezvous, now would be the time. Lots of history in that area. It's also a very easy drive to Pierre's Hole, Jackson's Hole, Yellowstone Park, and the Buffalo Bill Historical Center/Winchester gun collection/Plains Indian Museum at Cody----all well worth seeing (if you go to the museum in Cody, plan for a day there--the thing is HUGE. It's one of the premier western history museums in the US). See you on the Green! www.museumofthemountainman.com/2012/home.htmRod
