Wish I'd taken some pics to post as I am now 250 miles away from home until Friday evening. This morning my 1792 Contract rifle came in the mail from Minnesota. It's looks a little used, but so did the rifles the guys had out in the field. I'll try to post some pics after I get home on Friday. Many thanks to Rod for pointing out this rifle for me. Got it for a great price. And yes Rod, It'll be coming with me to Rendezvous this weekend

I don't think you'll be disappointed in that one---it's seen some use, but no abuse. Which, when you think about it, would be typical for a rifle surplussed in the 1820s----some people pay extra for 'antiquing'.
I got to take a look at this rifle when Leif brought it out to Ft. Union, and it's a nice one.
