Here is a simple bag I finished (it was sent to me in started form) and quilled for someone else that does Rocky Mtn. stuff. Quills are natural dyed and in a simple pattern that has been interpreted a few times by others in quill and beads. Hide is braintanned deer with a light smoke (Allen Harrison tanned).

I like that--it does look very much like the bags pictured by AJ Miller. Nice and simple, tastefully docorated. So Allen Harrison not only makes traps, but braintans hides? Is there no limit to what that guy can do? [I'm having a little fun with it, but I'm always in awe of guys like Chuck, Ike and Allen who are so talented making stuff like that and can seemingly turn their hand to anything] Rod

Thanks for the compliments. I am really not that good at much... I just do a lot of everything because I am too cheap to buy it most of the time. ;D NOW... I REALLY need to make myself a new pouch... I just do not know exactly what I want to do yet.

What's wrong with this one? A bit too western and AJ Miller for my Great Lakes butt. AND... this was made for someone else.

Hmmm - may have to break down and try to make something like that - I have plenty of brain tan to do it with.

Thanks to Chuck I have finally been able to post the photo of my interpretation of a Deringer rifle, buffalo horn and Milleresque bag. Pony beads were used instead of seed beads. Enjoy. Mark

Here's my version of an A.J. Miller style shooting bag with my bison powder horn and 75 grain sheet-metal type powder charger. Straps and bag are braintan with light smoke. I may trim the lower fringe a bit on the bag and will be replacing the button. Leifer Attachments:

Mark Howdy - did you use deer skin for the bag and did you line it with some cloth - what are the dimensions and what type of button did you use? Is it bone or deer horn?

Leather is probably deer. It was in my pile so I used it. Lined with pillow ticking. I like pockets to keep stuff sorted and from piling in the bottom. Button is an elk ivory from one I killed a while ago. Seem like a good use for it.
