Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good book detailing the Ute interaction with the mountain men and the Mexicans in Northern New Mexico/Southern Coloradlo?

On another forum, I recommended this site on Antoine Robidoux: ocw.usu.edu/History/History_of_Utah/Utah_History__Antoine_Robidoux.pdfI did some checking, that paper was John Barton's master's thesis. He took that, and expanded it greatly into a book, Buckskin Entrepreneur; Antoine Robidoux and the Fur Trade of the Uinta Basin 1824-1844. Published by Oakfield Publishing Co., 2634 S. 500 E., Vernal, Utah, 84078, in 1996 I highly recommend getting the book, there's much more information in there. It's softcover, 120 pages, and packed with well footnoted information. It deals extensively with Robidoux's interaction with the Utes, and touches on opposition posts in the area, as well. You might be able to track down a copy here, they provide a phone number: www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~utuintah/publications.htmlRod
