2012 Fur Trade Symposium

I got my notice in the mail today---- we rendezvous on the New Fork of the Green for the 2012 Fur Trade Symposium, September 5-8, at the Museum of the Mountain Man in Pinedale, Wy. Looks like a great lineup of speakers, with the likes of Jim Hanson, Clay Landry, Jim Hardee, and a host of others. There will be a bus tour of the Green River rendezvous area, with special emphasis on the Astorians (this being the 200th aniversary, after all), on the 6th.

Also, the call for papers has been issued for the 2013 edition of the Rocky Mountain Fur Trade Journal----selected writers receive $1000 award. Papers are due by Sept. 1, 2012. See the website for details.
