I have a couple Nowill knives from sheffield,I am haveing a heck of a time getting a good edge on them.Annyone have simular problems.

They are not super hard. I can get a good shaving edge on mine, but it requires regular touch ups with a steel. I'll usually have to work it over on a stone a couple times in the process of cutting and wrapping a deer. I think these knives would have been on the better end of period knives, but are a little softer than what many expect today.
