Never had one of those but if you're looking for a good bright oval Jerry Rodri of Nine Tongs Forge here in Durango makes very nice ones - he doesn't have a website (yet - we're working on it!) but you can call him at 970-385-7670

I have one from the MFT...throws good sparks, but it just doesn't "seem right" to me..I'll second Chucks' advice-get one from Jerry Rodri-his smithy turns out some right nice work...Mitch

I don't own any of Jerry's knives, but it is one I would buy, especially after handling the one he made for Mitch. I'd like to see more of the knife styles and strikers he makes.

Pare- Pare - Jerry can and will make any style striker you desire - c, oval, South West, English, etc. As for knives - pretty much the same thing especially backwoods styles - I've done some knives with his blades and will post them later. Also I'll be down at his place (just 4 miles away from my place) this weekend working and will see what he has in the way of strikers and knives and see about getting some pics.
