Rereading Stewart's "fictional, Auto-biography". Interesting read and unlike the some of the original firsthand accounts goes into more detail about the everyday affairs of the time.
It is not an easy read because of the style of writing, but there are some jewels to be gleaned.
I am interested in what you in cyberspace think of this book and its contents.

There's plenty of good information in Edward Warren, but you're right, the writing style is less than helpfull----although the same could be said for most late-Georgian, early Victorian writings. Sage comes to mind, as does Ferris.
I've never read Altowan---anything of interest in that?
