Chuck,
I think by the 1830's that most of the English import fowling pieces were halfstocks. This one has similar architecture and hardware to a lot of those guns, but it's been NW'ern-ized with the snake, ribbed pipes and full stock. Its interesting to note that the inlays are a lot cruder looking than the engraving on the rest of the gun. I've always kind of wondered about that, but I think that the buttplate and trigger guard on this gun was actually mass produced with this engraving.
