Kettles & bowls.

Most of the pictures I've seen of camps show tin pots or brass kettles, but what I don't see are japanned kettles, which show up quite often on trade lists. I recall a few folks making them, but not really on a regular basis.
Another item seen on lists are wooden bowls. Are there any descriptions of them, or who were the maker's?
Anyhow...just being curious.
