red handled knife description

I thought a little description of the red handled butcher knife might be in order.a friend of mine has lent me his red handled knife to use so here goes.The knife is 11 1/2 '' long ,the blade is 7'' long and 15/16'' wide by about 3/32 thick.also the blade looks to be made of carbon steel and this one has a nice patina on it.The handle is 4 1/2 '' long and is made of some kind of red wood,it looks like it might come from South America,there are 5 iron pins going from side to side and the tang goes all the way through the handle.It looks like the same knife that is pictured on the Fort Union web sight
