Mark---- What do you think of that Chambers Late Ketland lock? I've been tossing around the idea of getting one for a future project I've got in mind, and was looking at either the Chambers Late Ketland or the Davis Early Kentucky/American Fowler locks. Both being copies of English export type locks, they'd be what I was looking for.
Any advise or comments on the Chambers lock would be appreciated.

This is my first Chambers' lock. What I like about his locks is the great main spring which result is very quick cock speeds. This one is no exception. The very first thing I did was break the tumbler shaft where it fits into the cock. I used a special punch that fits into the shaft where the cock screw is tapped. Wrong! I call Chambers' and they wanted the broken tumbler and replaced it at no cost.
I have used other Chambers' locks but this is my first on one for myself. I am impressed and will use his locks again. I have used one Davis lock on a pistol. The frizzen angle seem very steep.
Personally I think most of the reputable companies are all good. Chambers has the reputation of being outstanding. I would have to agree.
I find it hard to believe the negative rep that L&R has lately. I have one of their Durs Egg on my own Buck's Co. I like it and it works good. Originally I had some problems, but worked through those.
